Lake Highland Preparatory School is a Pre-K through 12, coeducational, private, day school situated on a twenty-six acre campus on Lake Highland in the heart of Orlando (901 N. Highland Avenue, Orlando, Fl 32803). Lake Highland is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of College and Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. The total enrollment for 2008-09 is 2,075 students, PK-12. This includes 910 students in PK-6, 403 students in grades 7 and 8 and 762 in grades 9-12.

The city of Orlando is the major urban center in Central Florida with a population of approximately 1.5 million people. The metropolitan area is one of the fastest growing in the United States. Its economic base, once predominantly agriculture, has diversified to include tourism, electronics and manufacturing. The contributions of community members including the University of Central Florida, Rollins College Tupperware International, Lockheed-Martin, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Sea World, and professional teams such as Orlando Magic and Orlando Predators, have helped make Orlando a truly international community.
