New students pay two non refundable fees within two weeks of acceptance. The first is a $1,400.00
enrollment deposit, which is applied to tuition. The second is a $1,500.00
new student fee.
Returning
students pay a $1,400.00 re-enrollment deposit annually, which
is applied to tuition. This non-refundable deposit reserves a student's
place for the upcoming school year, subject to the student's satisfactory
completion of the current year.
Families may
choose between three tuition payment plans: one annual payment,
two semester payments, or 10 monthly payments. A finance charge
of 12% applies to the semester and monthly payment plans.
Tuition does
not include charges for textbooks, Advanced Placement exams, athletic
spirit packs, certain field trips, and graduation. These fees and
similar charges vary by grade level and will be charged where applicable. Example of charges can be found by clicking here. Tuition Refund insurance
is required of all new families on the semester or monthly plans, for two years and is optional thereafter.
Financial
Aid
Lake Highland offers financial aid to families with students in grades 6-12. In order for us to allocate our resources wisely and fairly, we have enlisted the help of Independent School Management's Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) program. FAST provides the school with a report, which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. FAST does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; FAST does provide a need-based financial aid analysis service. All information from FAST is kept confidential.
Financial aid awards are based strictly on 1) financial need of the family, as demonstrated through the FAST application and a review of the parents’ 2008 1040 tax form and 2) available financial aid funds. Families applying for financial aid must file online with FAST according to the applicable deadlines. Lake Highland’s Financial Aid Committee makes its decisions in the late spring. All financial aid applications are held in the strictest confidence.
Note that all candidates for Financial Aid must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA or a 2.5 GPA for the previous semester. In addition to a solid academic record, we look for our students to be of strong character and involved in activities outside the classroom.
